Step into your own cultural adventure
We love to work with schools and share with children curriculum relevant social history. We are flexible with our access times for school groups.
Teachers are most welcome to work alongside us at the Museum.
We are here to help schools by providing curriculum-rich educational trips. We engage children with stories of the Romans and their need for Cotswold Sheep fleece, with the perils of 17th century Coaching Era and with the arrival of the railway.
Let us show you the 18th & 19th century ceramics and glassware and our 19th and 20th century Artists and Authors of the Broadway Colony and the stories that come with them.
Children can explore Broadway in Postcard and see what the village they know and love used to look like.
Broadway Museum aims to assist schools in the delivery of the following aspects of the History National Curriculum.
Pupils will be given the opportunity to discover:
At Key Stage 1
· significant historical events, people and places in the locality.
At Key Stage 2
· a study over time tracing how national history is reflected in the locality with particular attention on transport and crime and punishment.
We charge £7 per child for a 2 hour visit to Broadway Museum to include:
A tour of Broadway Museum in connection with your Curriculum Topic where possible – ‘Crime and Punishment’ is a fun one!
We engage children in role play activities and introduce children to characters of the times. A great way to enhance learning and engage inquisitive minds.
Our volunteers are advanced DBS checked and we can provide these in advance.
A snack can be brought by school or provided by us, allergies permitting
