An Introduction to Modern Calligraphy
Always wanted to try dip pen modern calligraphy? If you’re a novice to the skill, have dipped your pen a little, or have some skills but need some more calligraphy inspiration, then the Introduction to Modern Calligraphy workshop, hosted by Rachel of Cotswolds Calligraphy, might be the creativity boost you’re looking for.
In the 2.5 hr workshop, you will be welcomed with a calligraphy kit that is yours to keep after the workshop. The kit includes worksheets for the workshop, extra worksheets to continue at home, pen holder, nib, ink, pencil, gift tags and blank greeting card.
Rachel will first guide you through your new tools, including how to set them up and maintain them for future use. You will then dive into learning the foundations of calligraphy and put your new knowledge to paper. This includes creating lowercase letters, how to connect letters, and creating common greetings. If you’re flying through your worksheets, you will find gift tags and a blank greeting card where you can put your new calligraphy skills to work!
Calligraphy for Rachel, is a slow and steady process. Putting the nib to paper is relaxing and this workshop will reflect the calmness that calligraphy can bring. You will go through the worksheets at your own pace within the two and a half hours we have together. As it’s a small workshop, there will be plenty of time for Rachel to guide you, share top tips, and ask any questions you may have along the way.
Refreshments also included to keep you fuelled and focused through the workshop!
