Bronze Age Beaker workshop for younger potters (but adults will also enjoy it) The Great Pottery Throwdown Finalist – Dave Short
Use pinch-and-coil techniques to create a patterned beaker in the style of the Bronze Age Beaker People. Archaeological excavations in Broadway have uncovered stunning examples of this type of pottery made over 4000 years ago.
Use beautiful terracotta clay to form a beaker, then decorate it using impression patterns in the traditional style.
At the end of the 1 ½ hour session, your beaker will be fired and returned to you about 4-5 weeks later. Extra pieces can also be fired at an additional cost of £4 each.
No prior experience is required, but those who have worked with clay before can develop their design to be more challenging!
Classes are held in our bright, airy second-floor workshop at the Broadway Museum. Class price includes free access to our collections and exhibition.
We recommend you park in our nearby long-stay car parks. Shear House is the closest to us at a 4-minute walk and can be managed through Ringo.
